Schoolwide service programming exists in the form of House Cup Challenges, involving food or resource drives for local charities.  Often 设计ed 和 initiated by students across all four divisions, these “competitions” encourage tie color groups to contribute goods to our broader 社区.

    Action is integral to the 国际学士学位 Primary Years Programme (PYP) learning process 和 its overarching goal of international-mindedness.     Throughout the regular academic year, students have a variety of opportunities to engage in service. 例如, students at all grade levels can elect to participate in a weekly 服务 Learning Club where they volunteer to support a specific classroom, 老师, 或者是学校的管理者.

    • 6年级, each middle school student maintains a Community Engagement Blog in which they reflect on their experiences after each interaction with an organization or 社区. 
    • In 7年级, students develop a deeper underst和ing of service learning by identifying personal areas of interest connected to a non-profit organization working to address a particular concern in a 社区. Students learn about the 社区 the non-profit serves 和 gain a deeper underst和ing of the organization's needs. The culmination of this unit is a public service announcement (PSA) video that is created to publicize the charity. 
    • 社区计划开始于 8年级 和 is a culminating 项目 project that allows students to focus on one area of service about which they are passionate. Building on their prior experience during Community Engagement Days in Grades 6 和 7, students have been researching 和 设计ing a project that will make a positive impact in the 社区 of their choice.  The project follows the Community Project Cycle that includes phases of investigation, 规划, 采取行动和反思.
